Class Description
In this class we learn a lot about science. This class can get a bit gross at times, but it is probably one of the best classes there is at my Middle School. For example we once cut open a squid and then cooked it. In 7th grade you are taught life science, which includes a unit about puberty and sexual reproduction. Basicly, this is one of my favorite classes at my school.
In science we learned about genetics. Since we learned about this we had to write a paragraph why we have a certain trait. You also have to make a punnet square. As well you have to have a picture about the trait. The trait I wrote about is my hair. This was really fun.

For this project I had to make a slideshow using Google slides about one of the people who helped discover DNA. I chose Maurice Wilkins because without them no one would know what DNA looks like because he a photo of it to Model builders. This taught me a lot about the discovery of DNA. I also had to use what I learned in computer class. I have done a lot of slideshows, but this one is my favorite.

This was a group project. It was very fun. I had to make a Google Slide about Alpacas. My part was reproduction, I learned a lot of disturbing facts, but also some really cool facts. I first had to fill a Google Doc with notes before I could start this. It took quite a lot of time, but at the end it was worth it because I got an A on this project.

In Science, we have been studying superposition, crosscutting, and unconformities in rocks. Superposition is the rule that the rock layers closer to the surface are younger than the layers underneath them. Crosscutting happens when magma shoots into the rocks and hardens; this is also known as an intrusion. An unconformity happens when a rock layer is missing. At first, I had a lot of questions, but later on in the unit I understood it. I ended up getting an A on the test for this unit. I actually really liked this unit. I'm glad we ended up doing this.
